Q Drum Company prides itself on the art of craftsmanship with a product line that stems from vintage inspiration, and pushes the boundaries of modern drum building technique. They have become known for utilizing materials such as cold rolled steel and copper to build drum kits. The company is owned by both Jeremy Berman and Ilan Rubin; Berman spent over 15 years as a builder at Orange county Drum and Percussion and as a drum tech for a number of global acts, including Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Norah Jones, and more. Ilan rubin is a world renowned drummer best known for his playing with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Angels and Airwaves, Paramore, and others. With exponential growth since the company’s inception 4 years ago, Q Drum Co. is a company to look out for.
This 1/8″ thick brass plate snare features a dark brown patina with a 1″ brushed brass stripe in the middle and a Trick throw-off. It has quite a bit of warmth, and is not quite as dark in tone as Q’s copper snares. It has plenty of volume and body, however.
