Gibson outfits the SG Modern to meet the demands of the contemporary player without sacrificing classic SG style or sound. The mahogany body features a AA figured maple cap for a traditional, Les Paul-inspired look. The mahogany neck is carved to an asymmetrical Slim Taper profile to compliment the ebony fingerboards compound radius, providing better access to all 24 frets. Dual Burstbucker Pro Alnico V humbucking pickups are wired with two push-pull pots to offer both humbucking and single-coil sounds at the push of a button, and the premium hardware set promises excellent sustain and reliable tuning thanks in part to Grover Rotomatic locking tuners.
